    70 Skunk

I convinced my buddy Jason to join my in Zion to go hike The Narrows. We arrived early enough the day before to get a sunset shot in. Even though Escaype predicted a 70 skunk for this night, we had nowhere better to be, so we went to shoot the classic Canyon Junction Bridge overlook. Jason is not a photographer, and after the sun set and nothing was happening he asked "out of curiosity, what are we waiting for?" I told him that maybe we'll get lucky. A few minutes later the sky erupted in pinks for about 30 seconds. What you see here is what I was waiting for.

I spent an amazing week in Iceland touring around with Mike Mezeul and Thorarinn Jonsson on a workshop. The night before I was going to leave a spot opened up to take a open window Cessna to get to shoot the Icelandic Highlands from the air. I probably should have asked "how much" but the first words out of my mouth were "yes, please!". It was an amazing end to my trip to get to see these humongous river beds especially after they had a fresh coating of snow on them. Definitely became one of my favorite abstract landscapes to shoot.

    Stars, No Stripes

This was my first ever Milky Way shot. It was 4th of July weekend and I was at my buddy's place a block from Donner Lake. We walked down to the lake with some beers to hang out on one of the docks. I had no idea what to expect but I set up my tripod, jacked up the ISO and did a 30 second shot. When I looked at the result I was psyched. This is probably still one of my favorite Milky Way shots.
